Why the Project Communication Course is Partially in English? - Pourquoi le cours sur la communication de projet est-il partiellement en anglais ?

International students are warmly welcome in this course. Face-to-face project communication classes will be partly in English. Projected materials will have captions in both French and English, and students can submit their work in English. However the courses will be taught in French for one main reason: The content of the course is based on my expertise and culture which are deeply French, similar to how you might prefer to watch a film in its original language with subtitles.

Les étudiants étrangers sont très bienvenus à ce cours. Les cours de communication du projet en présentiel seront partiellement en anglais : Les supports projetés seront légendés en français et en anglais. Les étudiants pourront soumettre leur travail en anglais. Cependant les cours seront donnés en français pour une raison principale : Le contenu du cours repose sur mon expertise et ma culture qui sont profondément françaises un peu comme un film que l’on préfère voir en version originale sous-titrée.»

Learning Objectives - Objectifs pédagogiques

The aim of this course is to help students at this crucial stage before earning the architect's state diploma and entering professional life to study the key aspects of project communication.

L’objectif de ce cours est de permettre à l’étudiant, à cette étape particulièrement sensible et charnière conduisant au diplôme d’Etat d’architecte, où la vie professionnelle commence à prendre une réalité tangible, d’étudier les ressorts de la communication du projet.

Content - Contenu

Studying communication systems offers a reflective and critical approach to a key aspect of the architectural profession: the process of communicating a project.

We will examine this issue from five main perspectives:

1 - Communication and Architecture

Defining and exploring interactions

2 - When a Site Communicates

Signage and visual identity

3 - Communicating About a Project

Covering every stage of its development

4 - When an Architect Communicates

The architect’s image and reputation

5 - Communicating Architecture

The spaces and formats where architecture is discussed

L’étude des dispositifs de communication permet d’aborder sous un angle réflexif et critique un aspect clé de l’environnement professionnel de l’architecture, celui du processus de communication du projet.

Nous allons aborder cette problématique selon cinq aspects principaux :

Signalétique / Identité visuelle

3 - Communiquer sur un projet

A toutes les étapes de sa vie

Required Work - Travaux requis

Students must present a design project that applies the principles studied in the course. The project will be presented orally, using a PDF document and, if necessary, videos. This course is interactive, combining lectures and the examination of student projects.

Rendu d'un travail de conception en application des principes étudiés en cours sera demandé. Présentation orale avec projection d’un document en PDF accompagné si nécessaire de vidéos. Ce cours est interactif : cycle de cours en amphi et auditions des études conçues par les étudiants.
